Apple iPhone 16: Unveiling the Action Button and New Chipset Innovations

In a short few months, Apple will announce the iPhone 16. The next generation of the iPhone is still a closely guarded secret, just as Apple likes it, but the usual round of rumors (WiMax support, a slide-out keyboard, and so on) have already started to make their way around the web. The base model iPhone 15 will be adorned with a bunch of new features, one of which will be the new Action button present on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple may launch iPhone 16 in the second week of September

During the previous year, Apple announced a new physical button that can be used as an “Action button” so the users can make this a functional button to use as needed, aside from turning the flashlight on and off and getting ChatGPT up and running in voice mode. It can also be used to place a FaceTime call.

It is also rumored that the upcoming iPhone 16 will feature a new Capture button and will be used as a physical shutter button to take images and videos. As far as the design is concerned, the iPhone 16 is said to look the same as the iPhone 15 in terms of looks. Still, reports shed light on Apple transitioning the lens orientation for the camera from horizontal to vertical to enable spatial videography.

The new iPhone will feature the same screen size as its predecessor and could be the first to feature a screen made from a power-efficient material. Likewise, it is possible Apple is working on new CPUs that will be seen in the iPhone 16 series, and will be manufactured on TSMC's 3nm node.

While there are no clear specifics, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to be powered by the Bionic A18, while the Pro variants will be powered by the Bionic A18 Pro. The new phones are also rumored to use a new graphene-based thermal design intended to address heating issues.

Another rumor indicates that the iPhone 16 will be available in seven different colors: blue, pink, yellow, black, green, white, and purple. However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the forthcoming phone will be available in black, green, pink, blue, and white.

Apple is likely to introduce the iPhone 16 series in the second week of September, with the phones going on sale the following week. However, it is unclear whether the tech giant will keep the phone prices the same as last year or raise them slightly.
