Charizards can be caught at the following CP ranges:

  • Level 20: 1574-1651 CP
  • Level 25: with weather boost: 1968-2064 CP

There are two variations of Charizard: shiny and regular. This is how it appears in its mega form:

Typing

Mega Charizard X is a Dragon and Fire-type Pokémon that is most effectively countered by Pokémon with movesets of the same types which are Dragon, Ground, and Rock types. This gives us access to a respectable selection of Pokemon—some of the best in the game, in fact!

Boosts

The weather will favor Mega Charizard X with sunny and windy conditions. When you encounter it in these settings, it will be more powerful and at a higher level when you do manage to catch it. However, exercise caution while deciding whether or not to go outside given that these conditions may potentially pose real threats to your safety. Staying inside and doing a distant raid might be more worthwhile.

Mega Charizard X is not a very strong card, so if you both have best-in-slot counters for these raids, you can probably couple it with a teammate. To keep things running well, we advise traveling with at least three trainers. Go out with at least five mates if none of your pals have amazing counters for Mega Venusaur. These raids will proceed more quickly the more individuals you gather. Recall to utilize the bonuses you receive from Party Play! Provided you're all together, there's no harm done.

Recommended Party

As usual, the Pokémon on this list that you have Shadow versions of will be preferable to their regular counterparts. Even with average IVs, Shadow Pokémon have a higher damage output than ordinary Pokémon, so if you want to maximize your raid damage, think about bringing them along.
